About PEX

Discover how air texturing transforms olefin yarn into a lightweight, voluminous and soft textile surface.

A TURKTEX collection

Polypropylene lightness, naturally tactile character.

PEX is a polypropylene yarn collection made by air texturing olefin material. The process gives synthetic yarn a natural appearance, generous volume and soft touch.

At 0.94 g/cm³, olefin is markedly lighter than polyester at 1.38 g/cm³ and nylon. Around 50 percent additional volume from air texturing brings both performance and a cost advantage to the fabric.

From material to fabric

A process that builds performance into the structure.

01

Olefin base

Low-density polypropylene establishes a light, low-moisture foundation.

02

Air texturing

The yarn gains a natural appearance, greater volume and a softer touch.

03

Colour engineering

High-fastness masterbatch and the Turktex UV stabiliser are incorporated into production.

04

Fabric performance

Compatibility with weaving and needle punching creates a soft, durable upholstery surface.
